Autonomous Maintenance
The concept of autonomous maintenance 'a-maintenance' creates a common language between man and machine, or maintainer and systems, leading to a world where the nuts and bolts reason by themselves.
'A-maintenance' is a technology registered at international level that follows and transforms system data along its journey from the machine to the maintainer. In this process, data is converted to information, by adding syntax and presenting it in an understandable form. Following this stage alternative routes of information analysis and algorithm manipulation take place in the field of artificial intelligence to extract asset knowledge for the maintainer and for the organisation.
The management of data, information and knowledge forms an integral part of a-maintenance in such a way that self-learning techniques are employed to understand and assess asset condition at any time. Thus deviations from expected asset response and symptoms of equipment deterioration or imminent failure can be generated, stimulating the communication of alarms alongside standard work orders.
A-maintenance opens the door to the autonomous maintenance of assets, where the asset advises the maintainer of its condition and required future maintenance needs. Technological solutions are developed such that little prior knowledge of equipment operation is required in order to generate reliable system diagnostics.
